About PHS
The Patterson Historical Society was founded in the 1970s with
the purpose of promoting and encouraging historical research
and awareness in Patterson. PHS is chartered by the New York
State Regents. Members of the PHS bring Patterson's history to
the public through contributions and volunteer time in a variety
of activities:
The Little Red Schoolhouse is an interactive museum and exhibit space,
which gives the community and district students the opportunity to learn
about 19th-century rural schools.
Events such as house tours, bus tours, archaeological digs and community
activities.
Publications, including Vignettes of Patterson's Past, and the PHS
newsletter.
PHS is run by group of dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers.
